The BBC is a national treasure, a public institution established on much the same terms as the East India Company. It is run by a former Pepsi executive and a former investment banker. Only a quarterwit would have issues with it. And if you say reform, I hear privatise.
Most rich countries make do without a massively powerful, and politically vulnerable, public broadcaster, and haven't been ruled by right-wing shitheads and West Wing psychos for the last 40 years.
The Guardian has maintained a strict ban on discussing substantive media reform for a decade. They know what the arguments are. I have made them in person to their journalists. The fact they have moved on to caricaturing their left-wing opponents is a kind of progress.
