Swimming pool barge on West India Quay in front of Marriot Hotel
Planning application submitted, consultation deadline 22nd June
We have been talking about an open-air swimming facility for a couple of years now, a lido in the docks
Others have discussed similar ideas
1/
But somebody has submitted a planning application for a swimming pool in a barge on West India Quay plus sauna
Water would be heated and filtered
Issues are;
Location in front of apartments
The operating hours are 6am to 11pm
Is it a health spa or a late night party location?

Next to a bunch of pubs so concerns over people swimming drunk
In principle, like the idea just think it is the wrong location for the requested opening times

On 1st June I submitted 3 questions to Cabinet about translation of information:
Q9 what languages have we translated LBTH / NHS information into?
Q10 did we LBTH help share the government guidance on social distancing that was translated into multiple languages?

Q11 when did we first provide translated material into other languages and formats? i.e. the 1st video I saw Cllr Islam was 19th April. Was higher rate of BAME infections in TH due in part to lack of awareness in that part of the community with poor English language skills?

Richard Desmond provides new information & includes Sadiq Khan & his then Deputy Mayor James Murray in the story

What is genuinely new are Richard Desmonds comments on Sadiq Khan & James Murray (then Deputy Mayor), now an MP
Desmond says Sadiq suggested to him April 2018 to add more buildings on site

July 2018 much bigger but similar planning application is submitted & in October James Murray said to support larger scheme
GLA later say they object to the size of it
Both the Mayor & James Murray need to be asked about their role in this development

That does not make much sense either

This is the problem with Westferry Printworks story, lots of interesting stuff but none explain the original decision
But why would you set up a private company, pay fees to do so, have to do admin work unless there was financial benefit to it?
He was an MP during 3/4 of work
