Uneen Sahib, a wealthy philanthropist landlord of #malappuram was known for his charities within the muslim community of south Malabar & was married to a local muslim landlord's daughter & living with his brothers Ali Bappu & Kunjahmed with many local mosques under his care

However by 1944, he convert to Hinduism after he happened to find an idol of Naramsimha near to a temple ruins at a corner of his estate.. He clarified that he was just re-converting to Hinduism as atonement for the sins of his grandmother who was forced to convert to Islam

Ramasimhan's reconversion was followed by conversion of his brothers too which was presided over by the Arya Samaaj who had by then played a very active role post the Mapillah revolts of 1921 in reconversion to hinduism of South Malabar.

Meanwhile, this deeply upset the local muslim clergy. For them, this was not just apostasy, but also meant no more financing from Uneen Sahib who by now donating generously for Hindu cause as Ramasimhan. Frustrated, the clergy claimed Uneen had turned insane &

possessed by an evil spirit (Kafir Jin) and forced Ramasimhan's father in law to take away his daughter. Meanwhile, Rama also started with renovation of the Narasimha temple (famously today known as Mattummal Narasimha moorthy temple), ruins from where he had got the Idol

The Muslim clergy's efforts saw fruits in 1946 when Rama's youngest brother got back into Islam & started persuading Rama too to come back. A debate between Rama & eminent muslim scholars too failed as Rama, by now had learned Hinduism thoroughly & was clear about his path

Matters turned worse when Rama's younger brother Narasimhan Namboothiri completed Upanayanam and got married to a young Brahmin girl, Kamala Antharjanam. Muslims clergy, finally sentenced Ramasimhan an apostate & announced to punish him as per Sharia law to death.

The job was given to Izzatul Islam, an organisation involved in neo conversions in those days. A seven member murder squad was constituted who murdered Ramasimhan, Narasimhan, his 15 years old wife Kamala & cook Raju on Aug 2nd 1947 night at their bunglow

Ramasimhan who had also converted his 2 sons to Hinduism before sending them for studies to Delhi were brought back by the muslim clergy and reconverted to Islam.
..The temple too was destroyed only to be reconstructed later with help from Hindu organisations.
