August 2010: Akhila, the only daughter of K M Ashokan, applied for admission to a private institute, Sivaraj Homeopathy Medical College & Research Institute in Salem, TN. There, she becomes friends with 2 Muslim sisters. This was the 1st time Akhila have had any Muslim friends

A macabre spinoff event that relates to this reconversion efforts is the1947 murder of Ramasimhan (earlier Uneen Sahib), his brother Narasimhan(Ali Bappu) & his wife Kamala Antharjanam, & their cook Raju by moplahs after the family reconverted to Hinduism 1/n
Uneen Sahib, a wealthy philanthropist landlord of #malappuram was known for his charities within the muslim community of south Malabar & was married to a local muslim landlord's daughter & living with his brothers Ali Bappu & Kunjahmed with many local mosques under his care

Next year , 2021 is 100 years of #MalabarRiots known for massacre of killing lakhs of Malabar Hindus, now bring made into a movie hailing Muslims Heros.
In 80's I recollect my granny narrate about how 4 of her siblings n uncles were skinned and killed by Moplahs in Malabar.
..one of the survived man, hid his remaining few women including my granny in a secret house for few days and later smuggled them to safety to central Kerala. Today, these families are settled in Ponnani, Ottapalam & N Parur. #MalabarMassacre

A thread on the much hyped Kerala model economy using excerpts from Kerala Migration survey 2018 report from the State Govt's Center for Development Studies (CDS) prepared every 3 years that studies emigration, remittance & its impact on economy of the state.
Known also as the "Money Order Economy", CDS's head S. Irudaya Rajan himself describes the situation as "Remittances from global capitalism are carrying the whole Kerala (socialist) economy".
