So yeah, the release of My Summer Vacation/ぼくのなつやすみ turns 20 this week, unbelievably. Fair to say it's still my favorite video game. It even helped get me started in game journalism, among other things. If you know me, you know the story: scroll.vg/issues/10 
I didn't even know about Boku no Natsuyasumi until a few months later, in a sidebar piece in this issue of the Tokyopop magazine. Arguably the only good thing Tokyopop ever did (look at least Stu didn't write the article)

I got an import copy like a couple weeks later, and once booted, the game was literally everything I was expecting from those thumbnail screenshots. I think everybody needs a game that does that to them.
Of course I have the whole series and almost every piece of merch (books and CDs mostly), but I completely missed the boat on... the phone straps. By the time I figured out how to proxy shop it was years too late. And the photo is from one I JUST missed on Mercari. it stings
