According to our figures, 20% say they do. This percentage is 4 points higher than last year's and much higher than the % of countries in 🇪🇸🇩🇪🇬🇧

📱 The gap between "trust in news I use" (45%) and trust in news in search (22%) & social (14%) is really big

5. However trust in news varies a lot by political leaning in the US

🔵 39% on people on the left trust most news most of the time
🔴 Only 13% on people on the right do

6. Across the 40 markets covered by the report, more people are concerned about false or misleading info from politicians than any other sources.

🇺🇸 43% of right-leaning Americans are concerned about misinformation from journalists. Only 35% about misinfo from politicians

7. Given the choice, the majority of people across the 40 markets covered say they prefer news that at least tries to be neutral.

🇺🇸 This preference is not so strong in the US, where 30% want news that share their point of view

8. Trust in news in the US is one of the lowest worldwide.

29% of Americans say they trust most news most of the time. A figure similar to 🇬🇧🇬🇷🇮🇹🇨🇱🇭🇰 and much smaller to 🇫🇮🇵🇹 (56%)
