1) Trump's advisers are targeting a new scapegoat in order to shift blame away from his utterly catastrophic botching of coronavirus: The CDC.

This is deeply depraved on its own.

But there's a backstory here that simply must not get memory-holed.

2) When Trump urged the premature reopening of states, which has helped produce the current spikes, he was defying his own CDC's guidelines and his own government experts!

The idea that Trump and his advisers would now shift blame to them is laughable.

3) By my count, Trump has already blamed *nearly a dozen* other people, entities, or developments for his own towering failures on coronavirus.

4) Now Trump's advisers have the gall to imagine he can get away with blaming the CDC, after he personally denied the seriousness of coronavirus and urinated all over his own experts' advice for months.

5) One could imagine a review of the CDC's conduct being done in a constructive way.

But the man who said, "I don't take responsibility at all," and actively wants *fewer* tests to keep cases down, doesn't suddenly get to be a voice of accountability.
