Butter and 8 by 8 in cake pan with 1 TBSP soft butter.
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
salt to taste
Add zest from 1 lemon
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
Add
1 tablespoon caraway seed
1 egg
Beat lightly
1/2 cup milk.
Stir in sour cherries you have removed seeds from and cut in half. I just used the amt I had, about 1 cup
Spoon batter into cake pan. It’s pretty thick and gloopy, but it works.
So lemony tart and sour and sweet all at once
