The EO says only if providing medical care to patients hospitalized with COVID. This is broader. But not clear if DOS meant to broaden. But a little helpful. 10
"I am in the US on an H1B, H2B, L or J visa but my visa will expire before 12/31. Can I renew?" Strange answer. Visa holders don't need to renew to remain. OK, we know that. Then "If you depart the US, you will need a valid visa to return." OK, but why not say 11
"You're not impacted by the ban and can apply under the normal rules" or something to that effect. Just confuses people. The order pretty clearly says they're not covered. So filing for a new visa is okay. 12
Last @StateDept FAQ - "Will this impact Diversity Visa applicants?" "The suspension does apply to DV applicant, with certain exceptions. The Proclamation will expire on 12/31 unless extended." So they're basically saying DV winners are screwed unless they find an exemption. 13
