NEW on the latest episode of The Ticket, former GOP presidential candidate @CarlyFiorina explains why she's voting for Biden.

“I’ve been very clear that I can’t support Donald Trump,” she told me. “And elections are binary choices.”

Fiorina says people who say they can't support Trump but aren't voting for Biden aren't being fully honest.

@AmbJohnBolton, for example, who says he'll write someone in, seems “desperately trying to preserve some position in the Republican Party as a conservative Republican"

Fiorina is a fiscal conservative and takes her opposition to abortion seriously. She likes Trump's judicial appointments.

"Yet, I think when Biden talks about the soul of the nation, I think what he’s talking about is values and principles and character," Fiorina says.

.@lisamurkowski has said she agrees w/Mattis that Trump is a threat to the Constitution but is "struggling" with whether to support him.

I asked Fiorina if she understands that struggle.

"If you’re a politician, I do. I mean, if you’re a politician, you’re focused on winning.

Fiorina says she hopes Biden will pursue consensus over abortion restrictions after 5 months. But she also says that being pro-life takes more than Trump saying the words or appointing anti-abortion judges:

I asked what she thinks of his turnaround to supporting Trump:

“I don’t excuse it. I don’t. It disappoints me. .. If you’re in politics, as Hillary Clinton used to say, you’re in it to win it”

What does the way that Cruz and other Republicans who’ve flipped to become Trump supporters mean for the future of the GOP, if Trump loses?

Fiorina: “Honestly, I don’t know. I don’t know. I think—I just don’t know.”
