BREAKING: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott orders all bars to shutdown today and restaurants must reduce capacity to 50% starting Monday as the state has seen spike in COVID-19. Since June 1, cases in Texas have doubled and hospitalizations have nearly tripled.
Abbott is also shutting down rafting business popular in central Texas where Hays and Comal counties have seen coronavirus cases double in the last 9 days.
“At this time, it is clear that the rise in cases is largely driven by certain types of activities, including Texans congregating in bars. The actions in this executive order are essential to our mission to swiftly contain this virus and protect public health." @GovAbbott said.
