Here are some quick updates concerning #3GD & #ChinaFlood situation based on all the news I came across in the past 2 days .....

1/
-- Chongqing city (upstream #3GD) just made it illegal for anyone to post any flooding related material online.

2/
-- CCP warned, heavy rain will last till at least mid July; according to statistics, the worst flood will be seen in July, not June.
-- according to weather forecast, heavy rain may take a pause temporally this weekend, before resuming.

3/
-- water level at Wuhan has exceeded danger level, and begin to seep into city edge.
-- almost 1000 reservoirs (excluding the big #3GD one) in Hubei & Anhui Provinces are overflowing, so all mini dams floodgates have been fully opened to release...

4/ ...water. As all those water are finding their way into Yangzhe through many branch rivers, close to 200 of those branch rivers are overly flooded.

5/
-- #3GD tells public they haven't opened wide bypass gates yet, trying to calm downstream public (It seems to me, I speculate, #3GD wants to try their luck, hope to "wait it out", trying not to cause downstream flooding).

6/ BUT, #3GD does report, they fired up ALL of their power generator turbines, which is earlier than past years (to me, this means, #3GD tries to sneakily let as much water out as possible without opening up wide the bypass gate).

-- a personal report: my dad made a contact with his relatives in Wuhan yesterday, trying to see how were they doing, and if they prepared rescue packs just for in case. Their response was SHOCKING: They had absolutely NO idea that crazy flooding has been going on all ...

8/ ...around them (except Wuhan); local news didn't mention 1 bit; they couldn't see flooding related news in QQ (China's social media). My dad's phone call to them was the 1st time they find out.

10/ He basically spelled out the danger of, if rain doesn't stop, as #3GD opens wide bypass gate, downstream cities will be toast.
