Thread: Big Victory in averting massive Corruption! DPIIT issues order for cancellation of Rs 2000 Crore BharatNet tender after @Arappor complaint on the massive illegal tender changes made by TN Govt. This has saved crores of public exchequer money from being swindled. 
Rs 2000 crore bharatnet tender was floated by TN Govt's TANFINET on Dec 5, 2019. However, then IT Secretary Santhosh Babu IAS and TANFINET MD Shanmugam IAS were pressurized to change tender conditions to suit specific companies. They refused and were transferred out.
New IT Sec Hans Raj verma IAS and TANFINET MD Ravichandran IAS were brought in and they made massive changes on April 15, 2020 in the middle of covid by increasing turnover, experience etc 3 times , changing router config to suit specific companies etc
Arappor made 4 complaints to Dept for promotion of industry & internal trade (DPIIT), CVC, Dept of Telecom, CM and CS of Tamilnadu, Competition commission etc on 20/4, 29/4, 14/05 and 12/06. DPIIT and Dept of Telecom took notice and stayed the finalization of tender initially
DPIIT conducted a video conference on 23/06/2020 wherein Arappor had put up strong arguments on how the changes were arbitrary, malafide, discriminatory and in violation of CVC guidelines and Make in India orders. Dept of Telecom and DPIIT concurred with Arappors findings.
TN Govt headed by Hans Raj Verma IAS was not able to defend the massive changes in Turnover, experience, proof of concept and router config. Finally DPIIT has issued orders yesterday to direct the TN Govt to cancel the BharatNet tenders worth around Rs 2000 Cr.
Clearly Arappors stand has been vindicated and cover up by IT Minister Udhayakumar has been exposed. Will @CMOTamilNadu now take action against the Minister and IAS officials ? Or is he also a party to this massive irregularity ? His actions now will show us where he stands.
