THREAD: The story of PIA right now is so complex that as a journalist (NOT analyst) it is extremely difficult to walk a balanced line.
1 you have PTI government & its handling of crises.
2 is Pilots & issues related to them.
3 PIA & its long list of issues crises
To make it more complex you are a serving Air Marshal running the company.
So if you talk about PIA you are taken as pro military or anti military. Given to the already multiple dimensions to PIA.
Then there is crash & sentiments surrounding that.
This makes it super tough.
If you talk about pilot error or pilots.
You are told "how can you blame someone who is not in this world to defend himself?"
If you talk about ATC you are told "how can you give clean chit to these mass murderer pilots".
If you talk about licences & point out facts.
You are labeled as PALPA guy saving the pilots.
If you talk about PIA inaction, CAA blind sight & complicity you are told how can you forget the crying mothers & so on.

So it is clear this is a very very complex story which has many many layers & has strong implications.
As a journalist NOT analyst you have to walk the fine line. For me is very IMPORTANT to talk about real issue. NOT sit & talk & hop channels to say random stuff & not talk about the elephant in the room. You are just like most of those who have been occupying airwaves for years.
So you have a choice to make a difference, to bring the real issue to light & to talk about things that you know. Things that can start a debate & bring to light issues that no one else is brining.
We need radical reforms.
For that we need to shift the conversation.
The elephant in the room in this case & in every case is the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. Whose sole job is to regulate, monitor, oversee aviation in Pakistan.
I say this all my experience & integrity that if anyone wants to sort out PIA or aviation. It starts from PCAA.
You sort PCAA out you start the process & soon all the parts will start falling into place. Things will follow slowly but gradually & you will get a sense of organisation. Because there will be oversight, things will be watched, identified & rectified.
Without this, no change.
Our aviation is riddled with issues, problems that if I start about them people will forget the pilots licence issue.

And all these issues start from a non existent, weak, good for nothing CAA & ends with it.

I will continue saying this. Be my guest & judge me. Thanks
