Present day University Convocation is the replica of ancient Gurukul's Samavartan.

Among the all sanskars of the Sanatan Dharma the four sanskars namely --Upanayan Sanskar, Vedarambha Sanskar, Keshant Sanskar, Samavartan Sanskar take place during the prime time of a person's life. These Sanskars purifies inner conscious of the person and makes life meaningful.

Upanayana Sanskar is the ritual of wearing sacred thread ,which is like a second birth for a child – A spiritual birth. This introduces the children to a teacher for education and marks the beginning of the Brahmacharya .

Another Sanskar along with Upanayan is the Vedarambha .Guru teaches Gayatri mantra to the Brahmacharis.Through this, the students get strength, energy, and splendor.

Keshant Sanskar is performed at the completion of the studies of Vedas and other scriptures at Gurukul and just before the Samavartan Sanskar.

Keshant means the shaving off the hair. The brahmacharis ard given a holy bath in midst of chanting mantras ,this purifies their body before attending the next Sanskar--Samavartan and entering into Grahasthya life (family life).

After spending a long time in Gurukul as Brahmacharyas ,the students, wearing new dresses assemble for Samavartan Sanskar.

Samavartan means returning home from the Guru Griha .The ritual is started by offering Gurudakshina to the Guru and Guru confers Snatak to the Shishyas .

In this Samavartan Sanskar Guru provides the knowledge of family life and enlightens them with the facts and responsibilities of the material world.
