Need to have a quick talk about those posts going around shaming people for being silent during all this (thread)
But just case anyone is new here, big fucking #blacklivesmatter & #fucktrump. If that doesn't float your boat I've got bad news about the rest of my content mates

Since the protests started I've seen people saying remember who stayed silent. Wtf mates. Do you know how easy performance activism is? How many people passed this random public shame criteria just by retweeting a donation link then sitting back & patting themselves on the back?

Not everyone is/can be fighting on the front lines & shaming people bcs they're not using their platform/bodies how you think they should be used when you have no idea what activism they're doing, or what state of mental/physical capacity they're in, is not what we need right now

I'm disabled w several physical & mental disorders. I'm doing my best where I can to support/edu people in my life but I'm not ok sacrificing my health to do so & it's wrong to make people feel like they're not doing enough when they're prob already trying their fucking hardest

I've been trying to make posts for weeks & I've been terrified bcs I obviously don't have any personal experiences here, my voice isn't one of the ones that need to be heard right now, and it's scary to not fully know how to help sometimes

And on the other side it feels disingenuous to post my more normal jovial content when there's so much serious shit going on but logically I know we still need the stupid shit for some chance at maintaining sanity

I know I have a lot of responsibility bcs I have a platform but at the same time I'm just a fucked up human that wants to make people smile & feel connected for a few moments

I'm going to continue to do my best to balance bringing people joy, talking care of my health, amplifying oppressed voices, & supporting myself I hope you'll continue to join me 💕 #spoonie
