I always bragged that I was the type of guy who never misses a flight, having kept a track record of prompt arrivals for my flights for over 7 years.

Well, it only happened that my Village People were asleep on my matter then suddenly woke up on my first flight to the USA. 😭😭
So here's what really happened. I had just gotten US visa (more on this later) and of course I was excited that I was going to visit the United States of freaking America! I was looking at my passport like "I have made it life abeg". Man was well pleased.
So I packed my bags to get ready (carried two bags, one empty to be filled for the return trip) and then I booked my flight. At this point I didn't know that my village people had just given me a Social Security number which they'd use to track me.

I booked Qatar Airways.
You see, all this while during my travels, I always flew with Emirates. Qatar Airways' airport in Doha prides itself as "the quietest airport", meanwhile I didn't know this.

But the trouble didn't start here. As per the "Ijebu man" that I was back then, I discovered something...
When I arrived Doha on transit and saw my flight to Texas was in about 8 hours, I took a stroll around the Airport, it was there I discovered that there was this lounge where, for 50 USD, you can eat whatever you want, enjoy free internet, rest till your next flight.

I was like
Brethren, it was true oh! Haaa!! 50 dollars come and see food! Maddeaux! In fact if the bread/ drinks on the tray finishes, they will replace it under a minute. This was heaven, I started asking why I had been flying Emirates like a daft human.

Meanwhile Village People were like
As a Nigerian what else would you expect me to do? Be time conscious or sinzu enjoy? I did the latter. I ate, I watched movies, I chatted on Facebook even gisting with the person who was to pick me that I was on track (LMAO), I caught cruise.

Village people had done it!!
By the time I woke up, I stood up, thanked the person at the reception for the great experience, and then started walking towards the boarding gate.

When I got there, PEOPLE, I started getting questions like we have been looking for you, where were you, I'm like edakun kilonsele
Brethren I HAD MISSED MY FLIGHT OH!!! In fact they had already removed my luggage and all. I was like why didn't you people shout, they said they did, but QUIETLY.

At that point, I was DIE. I wasn't in Lagos, neither was I at my destination, lemme just start cleaning work.
Luckily for me, the lady at the boarding gate was so nice to me, she booked me for another flight to Texas for free but then I was told I'd have to wait for the next 24 hours.

You know what I did?

Your guess is as good as mine.

I WENT BACK TO THE LOUNGE!

If I die I die abi?
I went back to "heaven", even though I had to spend another 50 dollars to get into the reception again it was worth it oh. This time around though, I used alarm clock. Village people will not triumph over me again.

In the end, it ended Village People 1-1 Olawale.

I understand why there is a lot of backlash from Mummy GO's testimony. Bleeding in Pregnancy is the leading cause of death in pregnant women and is not a joke. While thanking God for Mummy GO, women shouldn't use that template in today's day & age. To put it simply; you will die.
In my 10 years of clinical practice I have literally seen women bleed in pregnancy. It still took the same faith and God's grace WITH timely medical intervention to save them. And yes, these women were also Christians. It's not the lack of faith that put these women at risk.
The reason I don't advise these type of Mummy GO's testimonies is because in a country like Nigeria with poor healthcare, people are more likely to "test God" than seek care and guess what? They die. That's why Nigeria is the 9th most dangerous place in the world to give birth.

The average lifespan of an African is 63 years for men and 66 years for women. Meanwhile it is 80 years in Canada.

So by simply changing where you live, you can add about 15 years on average to your life.

Migration isn't always because of money, you can migrate to live longer.
Fact: You're more likely to die of an ANY form of Health Emergency in Nigeria than in any North American or European Country. You're more likely to die of violence related issues in Africa than in developed countries.

These are the factors that influence lifespan.
There are many more factors that affect Age or Longevity in Africa, but African Countries aren't ready to address this. Imagine that you call an ambulance for an emergency and they don't arrive until 5 hours.

How can people live long?

I have first hand, seen the results of bad decisions made by Pregnant Women because they hate CS and "it's not their portion". The most painful one was the one who after 5 years of searching, got pregnant, we discovered the baby was too big and she'll need CS. She kept quiet.
The baby was also not in the right position. We counselled her appropriately for CS. She said she has heard. Only for her to visit a TBA where the performed "External Cephalic Version", something that OBGYNs only perform under guidance in a well equipped facility.
The Baby suffered Cord Compression and strangulation and they rushed the child to us when they saw there was no other way. We did CS only to deliver a dead baby. I cried deep inside and was so furious!

The man later confessed to us what really led to it because I investigated.

Lemme say this again, there are two forms of Normal Delivery known to man, there's Vaginal Delivery, and there is Cesarean Section. Each of them have their indications. Women who ought to deliver through CS and refuse are the reason for high maternal deaths in Nigeria.
I mean how can you have an Obstructed Labor due to an Inadequate Pelvis and you expect to push your baby through a bony obstacle? Howwwwwww? You want to kill yourself? Or you want to risk a Vaginal Delivery with Severe Preeclampsia/ Imminent Eclampsia? Ọmọ!
Just few weeks ago I had a Vaginal Delivery that despite Episiotomy, the woman still sustained massive tears from her Vagina down to her anus and almost bled to death. Many women are literally willing to die on this hill of "I'm a Hebrew Woman, I must push my baby", and they DIE.

TIPS TO MAINTAIN GOOD BLOOD PRESSURE

A few days ago I said that people who have Hypertension can actually have little or no symptoms and that's why it's called a silent killer. Today let's share a few tips to maintain a good BP. The final tip is interesting if you're a Nigerian.
The first thing I'd like to share is what I refer to as the safe range of blood pressure. The safe or normal range is from 120/80mmHg. There might be lesser deviations from this point which are also normal however just note this number, especially if you're Hypertensive.
First tip: Eat healthy. Diet is very important. Africans in general have a very high sodium intake since we cook almost everything with spice and salt. Reducing your salt intake can help you keep a very good blood pressure so start practicing how to do that now.

There are some of us that don't have the pleasure of being able to consume milk products like we wish because when we do, it is accompanied by diarrhea, abdominal pains and bloating.

Sorry my dear friend, you're lactose intolerant. Let's talk about lactose intolerance today.
Lactose intolerance is a common disorder and is due to the inability to digest lactose into its constituents, glucose and galactose, secondary to low levels of lactase enzyme in the digestive tract.

So when you consume milk, it contains lactose. This lactose must be broken down.
Lactose in it's original form is a disaccharide, but for it to be absorbed by your small intestine, an enzyme called Lactase is required to break it down (hydrolysis) into a monosaccharide. In those with Lactose Intolerance, Lactase is absent. So Lactose remains a disaccharide.
