I absolutely adore using my laser cutter to make packaging for my @tindie orders.

Since this may be my most popular tweet so far I thought I would turn this into a mini tutorial so other people can do this.

From Pcbnew in kicad go to file -> export -> svg
From that menu select:
The copper layer with your components
Edge Cuts
Board area only
All layers in a single file
This will create a file along this theme <kicad project>-brd.svg

Open in kicad, Change the outline to red and create the outline for cutting out cardboard.
I've found that using a sandwich of three layers works well to retain the PCBs.

Top - 95% outline size to retain PCB
Middle - 100% - 100.5% to hold the bulk
Bottom - separate outline of whatever will stick out the bottom

This has been my TED talk 😅😅😅
Sorry, someone pointed out I open that svg file in Inkscape not kicad.
