The 1960 Democratic Party Platform (1) called on the *president* to put an end to tight money policy, (2) asserted that *high interest rates* were helping to *fuel* inflation, and (3) noted that tight money created a financial windfall for financial institutions.
This is the party platform that got JFK elected. It included an affirmation of FDR's Economic Bill of Rights.
Democrats also understood that inflation is a complex, dynamic process and that prices rarely accelerate due to a single driver. To fight it, you almost certainly need a toolkit.
