The True History of Serbia from the writings of Scholar Jovan I. Deretić

At first glance, Serbia appears to be a small country in the Balkans. Its people have been subject to brutal oppression and crimes throughout history.

But is that the full story?
Some say though that these attacks are part of a vast conspiracy to hide the true identity of Serbs and the important role they have played throughout European history.

Foremost in advocating this is Serbian scholar Jovan I. Deretić.
Deretić holds that all Indo-Europeans (except Albanians) are Serbs and that this was been deliberately covered up by other European powers and the Vatican at the Congress of Berlin in 1878.

Deretić's historic chronology is as follows:
The Neolithic Vinča culture is Serbian and its mysterious symbols are graphems of Serbica, the oldest alphabet in the world.

The Ten Commandments were written using Serbica because the Jews didn't have their script. It was found in Ancient Egypt.
All Slavs (and most white people) are Serbs, not vice-versa. Russians are a Serbian tribe because the vast steppes of Russia and Ukraine couldn't produce great cultures such as the Kievan Rus. Also, Ivan the Terrible's real name was Jovan (Serbian for John).
The swastika is an old Serbian symbol and Germans are 70% of Serbian origin. Italians are 80%
Serbs spread from the Balkans to India in successive invasions led by generals Ninus, Serbon Makeridov, Alexander the Great, and Seleucus (All Serbs).
Romanians and Count Dracula
 were Serbs.
Jesus and the Virgin Mary were Serbs.

Christianity is a copy of the ancient Serbian pagan religion. Jesus spent his youth among Serbs in the Balkans before he returned to Judea to preach. Also, Aramaic, the language that Jesus spoke, was another name for Serbian (Slavic Aryan).
The Roman Empire, despite all its military glory, couldn't conquer the Serbs in the Balkans. Instead, they hired them as mercenaries to defend the Danube border from other Serbs. Also, the Barbarian Invasions didn't happen - Rome just assimilated them. 13 Emperors were born in 🇷🇸
The Serbian Grand Prince Stefan Nemanja (reigned 1166-1196) is the grand-grandson of Roman Emperor Licinius (c. 263 – 325).
The name Philistines, is similar to Pelasgians, predecessors/ancestors of ancient Greeks(Servs), so the two people were the same.

These are some of the historical ideas put forth by Jovan I. Deretić.

One doesn't have to believe in all of them but they should make us at least question what our true history is and what peoples we're written out of it in order to make things more favorable to others.
*One final note:

As a teenager, Deretić recalls his uncle telling him some of this lost history which had been handed down orally by generations of Serbs.

This is likely the case with many other people throughout time. Oral tradition is the only way to preserve the real past.
