Because people forget and I have to remind people Joey Q might win the most fucked up Marvel editor award because most of his decisions come from either family stuff or nepotism. And here where going to go over his history tonight as a creator!

Joey Q Got Started in the 90's working on various titles the pictures below are some of the many things he worked on then. He became an editor at Marvel where he kind of saved the company but things change and the story he made himself...well there is a tale.

Let's go over his Ironman run which for my generation was the only Ironman Graphic novel available for a long time. Keep in mind there was a run by Kurt Busiek before this that was really good and this..well I think this is one story that fucked up Ironman.

You see the story is about, how Ironman's suit falls in love with him, and wants to be with him forever. This story is kind of bad, the art saves it but it removes one major aspect of Tony, his heart issues. Which yeah you can be like well who cares. But...

By removing his heart issues Tony kind of lose a human vulnerability, instead of a man who is constantly trying to fix himself for reason we have this rich dude trying to advance the future for reasons. I've never been a big fan of this. Some people are okay with it.

But let's get to his first major decision across the board, the smoking ban and censorship of comics. See Joe's dad died of lung cancer and this event sends him into a spiral of depression and bad stories that he will never recover from.

See he banned smoking in the comics, if you were a hero you couldn't smoke. Which okay but Carol was a alcoholic and this ban went into weird places including censorship of old art. Wolvierine, Nick Fury, and the Thing kind of lost edge because of it.

Keep in mind this did not originally effect live action movies, but honestly not a fan, Marvel characters are meant to have flaws and smoking is one of those things people you know do. Better to talk about it rather then just ban it you in my opinion. Plus Healing factor!

-tried to make new lines of comics
but some of his decisions are very unpopular and a lot of fans have BONES to pick with him.

Hey X-men fan remember how he help boot Grant Morrison off the title? and the man never worked for Marvel again? Oh that hurt so bad. How he asked Cyclops to Cuck Jean with Emma. Oh that stings, how he said the X-men were not a minority enough?

So He asked Bendis to erase the mutants in the X-men using the Scarlet Witch leaving us with 189 mutants. You know because a population about 100,000 people not enough of a minority. Make total sense!

A lot of people said this was done because of the movies rights which I don't buy? A lot of this happened way before the MCU stuff people. X-men was still a strong seller for a lot of reasons. It was only when The MCU got into full gear did this shit turned sideways.

If the movie deal really did matter at the time Spider-man and Wolverine would not have been Avengers at the time. So Keep in mind a lot of this had not much to do with MCU stuff which I know is shocking for some people to hear but Marvel did not use to revolve around it.

Anyway to continue his trend on RUINING THE X-MEN FOR PEOPLE. X-23, she was introduced rather...famously as a prostitute in the book NYX which was a Joey Q project about Mutants as raver runaways....look no one cares she was only put in to make this book sell.

It was Project he was trying to make a thing for years, and it's kind of bad, it has a lot of underage characters looking like this, and it's just a very awkward book to read. It's get ignored hard for reasons and X-23 is the only character to be used but he did not create her.

She was added in X-men evolution she's kind of the Harley Quinn of the Marvel universe if you don't count Firestar. Anyway one more stop before we get to Spider-man and then the story...Akira Yoshida.

So he made this one story in dedication to his father's memory that reveled that the old blind man Daredevil save when he got his powers was actually a pedophile who molested his daughter and she turned into a serial killer because of it that Daredevil had to stop.

I did a thread if people want to look it up but yes this was a story he wrote himself, you know making a story about fathers dedicated to your dad who is dead about one being a pedophile that DD saved as a kid.

Now Spider-man....where do I begin?

Okay as a Spider-man fan I'm going to say this I think One More day, might as well go for the big one broke Spider-man in a way the clone saga couldn't do in 190 issues. He took 4. That is impressive.

So you know how I said his fucked up family issues go into his comics, one point during one more day, Spider-man is visited by his future Daughter, who look like Joey Q's daughter, I'm not going to post a picture because I'm not a creep unlike Quesada.

I will point this out took, that Peter Parker is drawn to look more like Quesada in his artwork for this. Joe Quesada is an adult so I don't mind show a picture and I will let you compare. But I always found it weird..

*Spider-man sell his marriage to the devil to save Aunt May.
*Worst Spider-man comic ever that basically kind of ruins him forever.

I would rather read the clone saga 10 time over then this. At least the Clone Saga has Ben Reilly and Kaine. There are two things right there, it has a Mike Zeck arc, there another positive, it least fixes itself at the end.

but yeah he did a lot of fucked up shit with Spider-man before this, ask Spider-girl fans, Gwen Stacy fans...I have a thread on that actually then Spider-man was the big one he had Spider-man give up on his greatest motto with Great Power comes great Responsibility.

I should mention everyone working on Spider-man knew how fucked up this was and gave readers endings to leave the title before hand. One comic before One more day has Peter Meet god and we see the ending of him and Mj with Kids.

Anyway the only you can really read One More day and make it make sense is if you replace Peter with Joey Q and Aunt May with his dad, because of kind of reads like that if you knew about it. It's not a Spider-man story it's a self insert fan fic about Joey Q saving his dad.

The aftermath is it's own tail but he did help create a love interest for Spider-man named after his own daughter after making a story about self inserting as Spider-man to save his dead father and make himself singe....there is a level of fucked up here no one is prepared for.

anyway this is not the scummiest thing we know he did. There is a secret one most people might not know about. The Story of Akira Yoshida, or as I like to call it the one time Joey Q fucked over an editor to protect one of his friends.

you see comics was always niche and small in it own way and you have to know the right people Bendis for example was friend with Joey Q and Joey Q liked his work so he was brought on. So if you wonder why Bendis got prominence well there you go. He sold well at least.

Akira Yoshida is actually CB Cebulski under a pen name so he could circumvents rules of being an editor and a writer, he also pretended to be Japanese so he could get into the budding manga style that was becoming popular. The thought was hey let's get some these people work.

by people I mean Japanese creators to work on American comics Kia Asamiya actually did X-men comics here. He did,

like guy has some chops.

Anyway CB Celbuliski is not actually Japanese and was also working at other companies while being an editor and writer at Marvel, and Marvel had a rule against being both a writer and editor. and this led to an actual conspiracy.

Anyway I would actually go listen to it, I will sum it up but please if you take nothing else Joe Q protected his friend to keep his job and that friend is now Editor and chief at Marvel right now. The guy fucked over another editor just to save his bacon and lied to him.

As a person I try not to let my love for cartoon characters just make me out right be like I hate you and everything stand for.....with all of this I hate Joey Q and everything he stands for. Guy did a lot of good but it's hard to ignore the culture he created and the stories.

Do you know he's the reason Marvel stopped doing crossovers with DC after he called them lame and refused to apologize and said we didn't need them?

So there's Joe Quesada a petty fucked up man who became head honcho of the Marvel Universe and filled it with weird stories futures writer had to undo because they were not popular.

I should mention that sales tend to Spike whenever marvel even HINTS at taking out one more day. Look the fans want to read Spider-man again, and sales went down in half after One more day. I think this should tell them something. But I don't know. What do you think?

A little extra, one more day did make me hate his decisions but the Akira Yoshida is what made me go, your a scumbag, yeah the Spider-man stuff sucks and is painful, but honestly if Joe Q left Marvel, I might actually say at least it's a little bit better.
