Today I have met Mr. Jiao Xuxue, General Manager China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and Mr. Li Changgui, Deputy General Manager of China Communications Construction to discuss ways of facilitating the speedy implementation of the Nairobi Expressway project. 
CRBC have entered into a Private-Public Partnership with the National govt to construct the express highway on a Built Operate and Transfer(BOT) arrangement, starting from around Mlolongo to Waiyaki way. Full construction is expected to start in August & completed by June 2022.
We have agreed that Machakos County Government will waive all county revenues charged on construction materials so as to support the mega project.
In return the Company will sub- contract local businesspeople for supply of the various items and materials needed in the project.

They will also employ our local proffesionals and skilled workers in the project and offer CSR.
Present were members of Presidential delivery unit, KENHA officials and my Ministry of Roads and Public Works.
