First of all, it's impossible to work for change without having a vision of what that change will look like. Eric offers us his vision, at once painful and inspiring, of what decarbonizing the world in the next decades will look like.

Second of all, Eric does something I've not seen anyone do before: offer accounts of reparative negative emissions technologies—and humanitarian geoengineering (!)—which completely recast those processes as elements of climate justice. So important to think about NOW.

Third, Eric takes the prescription to talk about climate change with your friends and gives us ACTION PLANS for how to actually convene your friends and facilitate conversations that will lead to change. Yes please! I'm totally going to use these plans myself.

Finally, Eric very helpfully offers us a mindfulness practice we can use to help process the climate grief that can all too often paralyzes us or tempts us into implicatory denial. This emotional care will be an increasingly necessary element of climate leadership.
