The eruption around 'who is Soli Philander' has been...enlightening. In the spirit of let our judgement be reserved for those raising the alarm, rather than the people the alarm are being raised about, here are aspects of my CV that would seem relevant: Five one-person shows
TAKE TWO
- profiling what is positive about growing up in a Coloured Community
WOESKROES
- the corruption and abuse of the law and justice systems
HOTNOTSGOT
- the 5 major challenges facing the Coloured Community in the Western Cape
THE PASSION GAP
(with Christian Bennett)
and a cross-section of Capetonian musical talent layering the profiling of what it means to be 'Coloured'
NICE COAT
- an inclusive, contextualized narrative about Cape Town.
All these works have been critically acclaimed and points to a direction in my creative endeavour
I am the recipient of the Savannah Comic's Lifetime Achievement Award for 2019 - an award bestowed by the working comedians of South Africa to acknowledge my contribution to the industry and the discipline. I have been declared an icon of Afrikaans, the ANC declared me a leader
in my community and the DA has on numerous occasions in the past engaged me, and engaged with me, around addressing issues affecting our community (Yeah, I know Helen, and we have accomplished some stuff together outside both our roles of having our behaviour held up for public
inspection without seeming to personally gain from such behaviour - as I have with other 'profile' SANpeople)
I have worked with so many NGOs and NPOs over the years, that I am unable to ballpark a total
I have been part of anti-crime campaigns, anti-rape campaigns, anti-GBV
initiatives.
I am currently engaged with reclaiming a community centre, that belongs to my community, that has been hijacked from them

I was an intrinsic part of LET's FIXIT, LIRIEKERAAI and TAXIVISION which presumably should be judged by their impact
I once publicly apologized
to my children for allowing myself to be forced to send them to school.
The Baby-Mama and I were the Patron Couple for The Friends Of The Red Cross Children's Hospital for many years.

I am Timothy Traddle - brought to life to teach children that showing emotion was ok, and that when overwhelmed, aid and assistance would be the appropriate response
I weary talking about my work (too many interviews in too many years) when my prefence as an artist is for it to speak for itself - I am much happier, always, talking about the implications of my work.
Have I succeeded in everything I've attempted? (It's rhetorical) Then judge
me according to what I HAVE accomplished and tell me that I am not able to evaluate a situation, respond to a situation and assure the resolve of a situation where in my estimation a child is at risk?
In this Western Cape where we regularly mourn the brutalization of our children
'Who is Soli Philander?'

Maybe find out for yourself.
I'm just doing what I do.
What is necessary for my community, when the opportunity presents itself.
I'm happy with the impact of that.
Now ask, why would I - an innocent person - allow myself to be arrested.
And how that
was the moment you started caring. But what you cared about, was whether I had some ulterior motive. That I would raise alarm around a child at risk, in a situation inaccessible to anyone but the people displaying this risky behaviour around her, for the purpose of....what?
I hope this illustrate to some degree how your opinion of Soli Philander and his endeavours is really meaningless to me outside a context of how those opinions impact on my endeavours.
As in the past.
So now you want to come question my right, my capacity, my judgement in
assisting a child at risk in this time of #GBV on the basis of WHO i am?

I have two words for you :
