im more amused by it, as well as challenged to rise to the occasion. If i can change someone's mind in a HN thread, that is advertising I cannot buy.

uh oh - something happened. the "Show HN" has been removed and it was nuked off the front page. maybe too many reports? :(

after some tweaks to appease HN mods, it was restored - but the damage was already done.

Just downloaded my own book for free on a book sharing site :(

not putting DRM on my book has a cost. like everyone says though, I'm not worrying too much about it. I did send in a DMCA takedown. thanks to tippers for letting me know.

This strikes deep. I was conflicted about doing affiliates/launch discounts. I did them because everyone else does them, and it'd be cool to try. But more and more I am liking the brand approach:

- no quick wins
- no silver bullets
- no $ promise

I think every self published book author is contractually obliged to do one of these 😂 mine are not as impressive as @arvidkahl's or @dvassallo's but i am LIVING for the Day 2 sales
