I believe we are incorrectly speaking of natural immunity against the corona virus, certainly can't hope for a long-term immunity. However, our only chance of establishing herd resistance is by way of adaptation and this calls for exposure of a critical mass of the population.1/
Adaptation is and has been the only successful way of establishing peace with every known disease-causing agent.We do indeed live in balance with trillions of pathogens.A pathogenic agent is most virulent at the beginning as we don't have familiarity with in the initial stages.2/
Gradually its virulence slowly recedes, the pathogen becomes trivial and eventually once we establish balance with it - it no longer poses threat. This is part of the normal cycle and has everything to do with adaptive immunity.3/
Measles for example. Once a deadly illness, it gradually became a trivial childhood disease, a rite of passage - all thanks to adaptation and cross-generational immunity.4/
This mechanism is essential for the survival of the species and represents evolutionary advantage we can't afford to damage. Decades of aggressive vaccination practice has put us on a dangerous path of self-destruction,soon to reach a point where harm could be impossible to undo.
