The Dungeons & Da Asians cast and I decided to cancel today's stream. We did so for a number of reasons:

WotCs treatment of BIPOC creators and our stories has been shocking. They've shown that they don't care about our stories - no matter what they say about diversity.

That, in addition to Ben Chong's inexcusable behaviour, indicates that our community needs time to heal. Promoting a stream is not the right thing to do. I care more about my community than producing "content". Their well-being matters more.

The amount of abuse I received for calling out their hypocrisy regarding Oriental Adventures was also a shocking reminder of how complicit the D&D fan base is in perpetuating problematic content. Not to mention, the sheer volume of white people calling me a book burner.

They almost made me feel like I don't belong in this space. They key word is almost. I am now stronger in my resolve to tell Asian stories in the TTRPG space. I will use my platform to be louder in my efforts to educate.

The Dungeons & Da Asians prequel one-shot I am producing with @knit_nack, @TwifairyCosplay, @RY0MASA, @ammarijaz, and Agatha will be rescheduled for a different date. We will still be running an Unbreakable vol 1 adventure, just with a different system. Stay tuned.

It took me some time to articulate how I feel about WotC, as I have some freelance work in-review that would bring own-voice Asian themes to their wider audience. If this hurts my chances at making the final cut, then it reinforces the fact that they don't care about our stories.

Fans of @aznsrepresent don't tune in to hear us use the 5th edition D&D rules. They tune in to hear OUR stories and experiences. Moving forward, we are going to revisit the game we play on the podcast.
