We are not as divided as we think. Some will consider this naive or "out of touch" but here me out:

Today, the *majority* of America is united. When you think about those outliers, they are who they always were. And we let them speak up and we stayed quiet. 1/x

There were always different groups separated by silence. Blacks looking for rights. Immigrants just trying to stay silent and let "real Americans" oppress them so as to not make waves LGBTQ (individually) looking for support, but didn't have a voice. They united as LGBTQ. 2/x

Marginalized people who when you think about it, were a majority of they came together. Now, today, after the injustices we've seen. The president and his divisive message, we are all united to help each other. Lest we forget the privileged white folks speaking up now. 3/x

Athletes supporting the cause. Wealthy Hollywood throwing their name on the ring. Military members backing causes. Today, we have joined to make our voices heard. Those that desent from the message are those who always opposed real freedom. They wanted the status quo. 4/x

Less vocal previously, these folks crawled out from their rocks w/ Trump's dog whistles. But they were always there. The *real* majority in America is empathic. They are full of love. They don't want MORE than others. They want THE SAME as others. They want their voice heard.4/x

Today, we are more united as Americans in support of one another and in support of the change that has been necessary from day 1. We are stronger together. We are better today as a nation than when they signed the Declaration of Independence that excluded women and POC. 6/x

America is united for freedom and justice more than ever before. We are in this together. And we will continue the progress. #HappyFourthOfJuly
