This is the real Islamist problem. Allah prohibits all kinds of mundane things including eating pork, making statues or pictures and "taking partners of Allah" (Allah gets really worked up on this), but doesn't prohibit serious things like slavery or rape. 
For all the spin about Muslims are allowed to "fight against oppression" Allah does not allow a slave to fight his or her master or even to run away from an oppressive master. Thus slavery is directly condoned or normalized by the Messenger. (this is graded Sahih).
Now apologists spin—Muhammad/Allah wanted to abolish slavery "gradually" and the rules were "an improvement for that time" but are Islam and the Prophet for that time or for "all time."

Allah repeats several times in the Quran that "women under the right hand" i.e. sex-slaves are halal for Muslim men. He is so keen about slave-rape, that he forgets to mention 5 times daily prayers in the Quran. Relative priority.
