Police say there had been an assault reported at the address where they killed Mr. Garcia a week ago.
They say they were responding to a 911 call that the person who had committed that prior assault had returned to the address with a knife. azcentral.com/story/news/loc…

They then say in looking for that person they encountered Mr. Garcia in his own car parked in his own driveway and ordered him out of the car. They claim he refused and displayed a gun and they then shot and killed him.
Other witnesses dispute the police version that Mr. Garcia had a gun.
But, even if he did have a gun, he was in his own car, parked in his own driveway. That's not justification for the police to shoot and kill him.
