Aashaada Sukla Pournami apart from being Vyasa (Guru) Poornima is also a unique day in the calendar of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendra Swamy Matha viz. Mrittika Sangrahanotsava.
On the ocassion of “Ashada Sukla Pournami, H.H. Swamiji of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendra Swamy Matha performs “Mrittika Sangrahana” at Mantralayam.

Holy Mritiika is collected from Tulasi Vana from the botom of a Thulasi plant located between the Mutt and the Tungabhadra River.
After performing the Vedic rituals by H.H. Swamiji himself; sacred Mrittika will be brought in procession adorned in a Suvarna Pallaki to Shri Raghavendra Swamy Moola Brindavana Sannidana and will be placed on the top of Brindavana.

Adjacent and to the left of Moola Brindavana of Sri Raghavendra Swamy at Mantralayam, we find another Brindavana built in the name of Sri VaAdeEndra Theertharu the fifth descendant in the lineage of Guru Sarvabhouma Sri Raghavendra Swamy. He belongs to the 18th century.
In fact Sri Vadeendra Theertharu was the great grandson of Sri Guru Raayaru (in his poorvasrama) who was just two years old when Sri Raayaru entered into Brindavana.
