PS/ Note that the current conventional wisdom among medical experts appears to be that there are 10 people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus for every 1 confirmed case of COVID-19—which means America may have as many as 30 million infected persons (almost 10% of the population).
PS2/ According to research, 25% to 75% of those presumed 30 million would be asymptomatic individuals who nevertheless are capable of transmitting the virus. Also, there's increasing evidence that asymptomatic individuals may face significant effects from the virus down the line.
PS3/ Keep in mind as well that we're only 120 days into a pandemic that—depending upon vaccine research—could be with us for *years*. Keep in mind *also* that the current death toll of 130,000+ is estimated to be low by 10,000 to 40,000, according to various major media reports.
PS4/ A handful of states are doing OK—one is New York, which now has a test positivity rate under 1%—but almost 40 states are headed in the wrong direction, with some seeing positivity rates (e.g. Florida, with a 26% rate in Miami-Dade) suggesting a wholly uncontrolled outbreak.
