...Football (#RollTide), bass fishing, unbelievable musicians, artisans, craftsmen & women - don’t even get me started on the writers...
We have peach cobbler, fried catfish, gumbo, bologna biscuits, the blues, Nashville, New Orelans, the Iron Bowl, Big Mama’s pound cake recipe..

We’ve got bayous, swamps, mountains, beaches, tomato gravy & country fried steak, Key West, Mac & cheese as a vegetable, gators, snakes, wild hogs - and we even tolerate the goddamn Texans.
The South is a wonderful place to live, full of wonderful people.

And, with so much going for us, it is ASININE that we allow ourselves - our people, our region and our culture-to be defined by a four-year Civil War (that we rightfully & thankfully lost) and the flag that defined that massive historical mistake.
The South doesn’t need the Confederacy, a bunch of statues commemorating a bunch of traitors or the goddamned Rebel flag to feel proud or to assert its place in American history.
We are better than those abysmal four years.
We are Americans.
