#Karma & #Destiny
Lord Krishna & Arjuna were on their daily morning walk. On their path sat a very poor Brahmin in tatters. Arjuna being human got emotional and gave the Brahmin a bagful of gold coins. The poor Brahmin couldn't believe his luck and after ...1/n
thanking Arjuna started off towards his home with excitement. A thief watched the Brahmin walk in a gay gait and followed him to find out the reason of the Brahmin's excitement. The Brahmin got into his dilapidated house and locked the door behind him and announced to his wife2/n
"We will now have a great future. We shall leave early morning to another city and start a new life, see this, I have got a bagful of gold coins" he said showing off his bag. He hid the bag in an iron chest and the couple went off to sleep with super dreams. 3/n
The thief who watched all this drama waited for a few hours before slipping off into the night with the bag of gold coins. The next morning as Krishna and Arjuna were on their morning walk they again met the poor Brahmin in the same place sitting for alms. Arjuna using 4/n
his powers realised the whole story about the thief and the theft. Getting emotional Arjuna gave the Brahmin a big diamond and saw him off. The Brahmin now a chastised man started off carefully without any excitement. He got home safely and hid the diamond in a pot 5/n
that stood at the bottom of a tower of 3 pots in the corner of the room. The last pot was never used since the couple needed not more than 2 pots of water everyday. He felt it even better if his wife was also not informed of the diamond. The couple slept off 6/n
with the Brahmin dreaming of a new rich life when he would leave the next morning to a new future. As luck would have it the lady while leaving to the river in the pre dawn darkness with two pots slipped and fell breaking the pots. Cursing her luck she took the last available 7/n
pot and went off to fill water and get ready for the day. In the meanwhile the Brahmin woke up and rushed to the pot corner only to face the truth of disaster. As he saw his wife walking back with the pot of water the Brahmin in anguish accepted his fate cursing his luck. 8/n
Krishna & Arjuna on their daily sojourn again meet the poor Brahmin. With their divine powers both understood the series of events which led the Brahmin back to begging. Arjuna now losing patience shot off to Krishna. "Lord you know everything, you also know this is a 9/n
good man and yet suffers, but never once did you even try to help. In Fact you are smiling at his state, You are so cruel". Lord Krishna replied with a smile " This man's destiny is not good. I cannot do anything to change his destiny," "But cant u do anything for him ?" 10/n
questioned Arjuna "This is all I am allowed to do Dear Arjuna, unlike you I cannot let emotions rule my actions" so saying Krishna dropped 2 copper coins into the palms of the Brahmin and continued walking. The Brahmin after two days of gold coins & a diamond felt miserable. 11/n
He thought this is my destiny and started to walk back in deep sorrow. On his way he saw a fisherman with a large fish in his hands which was wriggling for life. The Brahmin was moved by the struggling fish and thought "the coins are of no use for me at least let me 12/n
see if I can buy the fish's life" thought the Brahmin. The Brahmin gave away the 2 coins to the fisherman and had the fish back into the waters. As the brahmin watched the grateful fish regain its life, the fish jumped up on the waves &  spat out an object which fell near 13/n
the Brahmin's feet. To his pleasant shock it was the diamond which he lost and was swallowed by the fish. Stunned by his luck the Brahmin took the diamond and started dancing in joy "I found it.. I found it ". Since King Krishna's retinue had just passed that way, 14/n
the thief was hiding behind a few bushes. He thought the Brahmin had spotted him and quickly came out fearing he would call the soldiers following Krishna & Arjuna. He handed back the bag of gold coins begging for silence and forgiveness. 15/n
Now as Krsihna and Arjuna were walking back on their route they the Brahmin dancing in joy with the diamond in one hand and the bag of gold coins in the other. Seeing this Arjuna sarcastically asked Krishna "Lord this is not fair, when I gave the gifts they were lost 16/n
and when you gave 2 copper coins they are got back. This is your leela at work." Lord Krishna with a smile replied " Arjuna I cant alter anyone's destiny. Even today the Brahmin's destiny does not allow him any comfort. Till the time he asked for himself he could not get 17/n
anything for himself due to his destiny. But today he asked for the destiny of that fish & the fish had a super destiny to get back its life. The 2 coins invested by the Brahmin in the fish's destiny paid rich dividends"
