#ARMYREALTALK Let me talk to you all real quick. I was supposed to drop an article this morning about the fandom so I could help kick start a positive press release chain by some other writers who are interested in writing about the fandom itself with all its complexities+
To help us have a conversation, or at least start the journey towards clearing the reputation of our name as a fandom in the media and to give us pieces to share that we can point to when people start asking the questions "who is army" or when some fucker decides they want+
To write a piece to misrepresent us we could go back to those articles and share the shit out of them instead of giving the bad ones clout.
This thought occurred to me from the Charlie poop problem that we had and that I spoke about in this thread 👇👇

And you must be wondering why haven't you posted your article yet to start this? Why are you not doing it? Well I'm gonna be honest with you all, and I'll say this. Its because idk that it will work even if I do this. Even if I write this piece and the other writers follow+
Suit and write theirs. Idk that this fandom truly wants to be properly represented anymore and I am pissed! Let me explain to y'all what I mean by that and present you all with the cold hard truth. And here: "the press, the media, is not completely responsible for+
Our representation, our reputation with the general public, you guys are just as responsible for it."

A lot of you will be angry at me for saying this but yes its true. Be mad! unfollow me! Heck some of yall will even attack me! But guess what I dont give half a rat's ass+
Im gonna say what im gonna say and if you want to understand why I'm saying this then continue reading. Cuz this about to be a long ass thread.
We all love to blame antis, and mantis, and solo stans, for our missteps and mistakes and sometimes it's true and they are+
A big part of the problem but its not always them. No, its not and the moment we admit that is the moment we're ready to have a real conversation about maturing this damn fandom. Let me show you what I mean by that.

A few months ago, Right after AGUST D dropped D-2 we had +
a mess with in the fandom. A complete and utter mess! People running they mouths without educating themselves first, jumping in the retweeting bandwagon, insulting fellow fans, amping up drama, attacking Suga, and ultimately resulting in censoring him and fucking up his art+
I addressed this mess in this other long ass thread and I explained to you guys that you need to stop and think before retweeting, educate yourself first, look at who's doing the damage before you start running your trap, ask question+

And a lot of y'all were like "I knew I was right but I didn't want to offend black people in the fandom", and then black people like me were like "even I was called names for standing up for yoongi" and then others were like "he hurt our feelings we were justified" and I'm +
Like "IGNORANCE!" This is all the result of ignorance and confusion brought on by that ignorance. We legit poisoned our own environment without realizing it! If those black people who were "hurt" had educated themselves they wouldn't have been "hurt", if some of y'all +
New how to approach a sensitive topic without starting a fight nobody would have felt "silenced", if some of y'all tried doing your research before retweeting the agust d problem would never have been a problem why? Because the trash would've stayed where the trash belongs+
But I digress. This should've taught us a lesson, it should've but it didn't.

The BLM movement and BTS addressing this became another mess for this fandom and I addressed it in this other long ass thread 👇
During this movement that is still ongoing btw. I discovered so much about this fandom that I truly thought didnt exist. And the ignorance jumped the fuck out again! Some of y'all out here calling yourself A.R.M.Y using racist slurs and making racist comments like+
Nothing! And the funny thing is the comments weren't all made by white or other poc ARMYs but by black ARMYs themselves towards other black ARMYs and other poc in the fandom, including BTS. People make it make sense! How you gonna be fighting against racism and ignorance +
And then turn around and do the same thing to other people? The term racist and cultural appropriation was thrown around like nobody's business and without even fucking understanding the meanings of these words, leveling serious accusations at some people who +
Were only trying to 1) learn more about how to help and asking for information and trying to diffuse the situation 2) trying to talk some sense into some of y'all hot-headed bitches and Jerks who were all up on weverse throwing insults at k-army and at BTS for shit+
They can't fix and have no power over. The blatant disrespect for others and for other cultures and other countries and other races was fucking appalling! To me as a black woman living in the states, who's known both good and bad times, and have had to put up with +
The disrespect and the ignorance of others I found it fucking crazy that other people, especially black people and people who were supposed supporters of the movement were doing the same thing they were supposedly against.
Again, the ignorance is at the base of this shit+
If y'all had educated y'all selves on other cultures and other nuances in the fucking fandom some of this shit wouldn't have happened, again if y'all learned some basic ass manners a lot of this shit would not have happened, if yall learned how to address a situation +
Without escalating it this shit again would not have happened. When you want people's support and help you dont start by fucking insulting them and demanding that they help you! And you certainly are not entitled to other people's help, especially people that have nothing+
To do with your problem and nothing to gain from it! If the tables were turned really think about wjat your reaction would've been first before you stick your foot in your mouth or sit on your fucking high horse pointing the finger and insulting others who are not in the+
Same position as you and may not understand where you're coming from. That goes for every fucking situation! Shut your trap, ask questions, be polite, educate yourself, manners are also a part of being educated. Learning how to think critically is also a part of being educated+
Learning how to accept and understand differences is also a part of being educated. Because in the work place, in society, in life, you will meet so many people who don't share your beliefs and your views and your background, are you gonna go around calling all those people+
Racist! Calling them names and insulting them, and attacking them without actually having the fucking decency to learn about these differences and how to overcome them, or take your time to figure out whether or not the differences can be overcome in the first place before +
Making a decision. I dont get it! Want the media to take you seriously but act like 12 year olds! And as a result, of y'all stupiduty and ignorance, we give journalists like her fuel and material so they can write shit pieces which i addressed here+ 👇👇
And then you give clout to people like her by retweeting the articles, commenting under their posts, attacking them and then the stereotype is Perpetuated and the cycle continues when all you had to do was ignore them, educate yourself, be better and move the fuck on+
I wouldnt have had to write an expose about this and her if we had done that. And again we should've learned from past experiences, we should've but we didn't. No we did not. Weeks ago, I wrote a warning thread about this shit, lets not bring kpop and BTS into politics +
I said. Its dangerous, I said. We are not a political fandom, I said. Not everything is a meme, i said. There are things that we shouldn't take as a joke, I said. I wrote and wrote and wrote, and I was called paranoid👇

Not once in the thread have i mentioned or said that we were to stop being humanitarian or a socially aware and advanced fandom, not once did I say we should stop fighting for what is right. BTS is the perfect example of helping change in society without +
Involving themselves in politics. They are very careful at observing the balance, they make social commentaries in their songs, yes, they criticize the government, yes, they let people know to vote, yes, they support charity and take a stance on human rights issues and +
Social and human issues, like education, mental health, child abuse, youth and women empowerment, yes. But none of that is inherently political. They can be used in politics, but these issues and these stances are not political. BTS has not endorsed and has never endorsed +
Any political parties openly, they have never divulged their political views, they've always been on the side of humanity and justice, and to see them dragged into a political fight for power and to see you as fans not understanding how dangerous this can be is just +
Insane. BTS and big hit are not political entities and army is not a political fandom so letting our thirst to be taken seriously and our thirst for recognition and our personal egos make us drag them into this and give clout to this fucking dangerous narrative +
Thats being pushed is insane! Again this comes from ignorance. Learn the difference between political activism and humanitarian deeds, political commentary and social commentary are not the same thing. Learn to differentiate between the time and place. Like RM says in do you!
Just becaus you're free to do what you want doesn't mean that what you want is always the right thing to do! There's a difference between freedom and self-indulgence, between freedom and recklessness and knowing how to tell the difference is also a part of education +
We shouldve learned from txt being asked about the trump rally. We shouldve learned and understood the signs when bts names and army names were being associated with politics by M*B*C a channel known to have bad blood with BTS. I warned y'all here +👇
Just a few days ago. We talked about about it! And do you know what happened not even a day later?! This shit happens 👇👇

Do you see the fucking pattern?! Do you understand why I'm mad?! And again it all comes down to ignorance! All you had to do was look up the guy's name before giving the clout, look up the meaning of socialism and what it means for the u.s as a capitalist fucking country+
The red scare was literally not that fucking long ago! McCarthyism wasn't that fucking long ago! The fucking Smith act trials weren't that fucking long ago! The Verona project wasn't that fucking long ago and the cold War wasn't that fucking long ago! And South korea +
Was one of the countries who was smack dab in the middle of this fucking mess! Especially considering their position geographically speaking to North Korea and even more recently the efforts and the hope that the two halves are going to be re-unified.+
Btw some of y'all seem to not understand that the current president is the orange idiot! His views on foreign policies are backwards af, this man is a racist piece of shit with other racists as supporters, he is dumb, petty and has literally succeeded in filling up +
200 spots on the fucking us federal courts. And has plans to pass a fucking terrorist act, that might eventually also apply to foreigners entering this fucking country and A.R.M.Y and B*T*5 are being logged in the same box as the fucking antifa+
We are being spoken of as a socialist organization (which we are not), and people/stupid people/the president of the u.s are dumb enough to believe any bullcrap that comes out on the internet. Like this bitch below and the the idiot next to her+
And im not gonna put it out there but there was a picture being circulated that had B*T*5 pegged as a terrorist organization. So tell me people?! Isn't this one of the most ignorant shit y'all ever did to date? To give clout to this mess under the excuse of mockery and jokes+
Why?! Because IGNORANCE! It's not out of malice, I understand that! It's out of IGNORANCE! Not knowing the right way to approach things, not understanding differences in culture, not grasping the importance of looking shit up before retweeting and giving clout, not knowing+
How to react and how to be alert during different times on the internet and not understanding or knowing what A.R.M.Y is supposed to be and what we mean to BTS and their image as a collective. A lot of y'all don't understand what it means to be A.R.M.Y, and a lot of y'all +
Didn't get the opportunity to learn this, or to learn about any of the stuff I mentioned above because its not your history, or you don't know where to go to learn about this stuff and I think thats understandable and that's also thats fixable.

As a fandom we are too big+
We are too diverse and too spread out across the globe to successfully reach everyone. And no matter how many threads are made or articles are written, they will eventually get buried and get lost because we as a fandom lack structure. And I came up with an idea+
To help fix this so information can be shared more widely and everyone can be reached more easily and we can educate each other easier. I spoke of establishing some universal/basic rules about online interaction that we couls observe, little psa videos that can be circulated +
But also stored away on a website dedicated to ARMY and can be translated in however many languages that we need it to be. I spoke of reaching out to already existing big and small accounts across social media platforms and across the globe so we can pull our efforts together +
To create a hub/a website that could direct people where they need to be directed while keeping the whole decentralized structure that we already have as a fandom. That way we can organize better, and teach each other better, if we vote to have some armys vet articles +
Then thats what we will do. Each country can keep their fanbases and their big accounts as is but we'd all be in touch and aware of activities going on across the globe through the hub/website, official Twitter account for global army. There could be different facets+
To the project, like different departments. I explained in more details in this thread as to why its important+ 👇

I explained that it wouldn't be gatekeeping in this thread 👇

I explained that a.r.m.y has already been defined by BTS and BIG HIT in this thread and that we were only going to outline and spell out that definition for the people who needed to hear it👇
I explained the educational aspects of having something like that+

I explained and explained and explained. And you know what? It was just to have people tell me that I'm trying to start a fucking cult, to have people tell me that I'm trying to restrain their freedom, to have people tell me that I'm taking the fun out of things,+
To have people tell me that we're not in elementary school and im not the class president (I never was class president btw I hate the concept, and was quite rebellious and still am), and to have people say that I dont speak for a.r.m.y (I never said I speak for a.r.m.y) +
Im not that pretentious.) So that got me thinking a lot really. It's like these people are saying " its ok racist fucks can take on the name army of they want to thats fine, its ok bigoted bitches can be called army too that's fine, its ok homophobic and transphobic fucks +
Can be army too, thats fine", we don't need to separate ourselves from the troublemaking, purposely ignorant fucks out there", "let me be a dick to other people on the internet," "this ain't that deep, who do u think army is", "why you trying to take away my freedom",+
"I'm just here for the music, why you gotta complicate things,". Yea ok that's fine, people who are just here for the music, and who dont think it's that deep, it ok to be here for the music, but what you not gonna do is tell me is being a dick on the internet +
And being an all around asshole is also being a part of a.r.m.y. cuz it aint in the acronym's definition.

A.R.M.Y Stands for Adorable Representative M.C for Youth. What it doesnt stand for is Asshole. Racist. Muddleheaded. Youth so excuse me if I want to make that clear+
So I thought about it. If im getting so much flack for suggesting this do I even wanna write the article cuz it seems like yall like the drama, y'all like the mislabeling, yall enjoy all the crap, and me, as a veteran army here since 2013, since predebut bangtan +
Who seen this fandom and bts evolved cant help but ask myself this question. Do I want to define this when yall dont want to define it? I mean don't get me wrong I have no problem speaking for myself and calling out the stupidity when I see it. And I have no problem+
Differentiating between a bts fan and army. And I have no problem speaking my fucking truth, I've been on this journey with bts long enough to know im in this and why I'm in this. And imma keep working on what I gotta keep working on but for this specific incident+
For this specific article that I was gonna write, idk that I wanna do this. And idk that it will truly help. I will be sending this thread to the writers and the people who asked me to write the articles on the fandom because they will find all the thoughts I was gonna+
Add to my article. And all the conflicts that I see within the fandom and why I think they exist which I believe comes from "lack of understanding of the word ARMY and its weight, and from absolute ignorance, and lack of thoughtfulness, plain selfishness" if you ask me+
Some of us understand that but there are millions of us out there that don't. I wouldn't be surprised if out of the 24 millions of us 5 to 10 million of us are in this for the wrong reasons or attribute themselves the epithet ARMY without understanding it. So +
I might not post the article. Cuz I don't think it will have much of an effect, just like this thead probably won't have much of an effect. If yall are not ready to ask y'all selves the real questions and have #RealTalk with yourself idk that anything that I can possibly write+
Or that anyone can possibly write will be effective. So I'll just focus on myself and my project for a while. Have the conversation amongst yourselves, heck send this to people you think need to read it, spread the word if you have to, but the responsibility is not just on one +
But on everybody! And of we are nkt ready to think as a collective and keep insisting that thinking for the greater good is taking away our individual freedom than as a fucking fandom we are doomed, and I only see this mess deteriorating and I see disaster on the horizon for +
Both us and for BTS because whether you like it or not we are their support, we are all they have as a shield to the outside world, we represent them so if we collapse and we keep infighting and we keep misrepresenting them and us. We would've fucked it all up for them and us.
And I'm just one in army that does not want to see it happen. So when yall are actually ready to listen and help and grow and do what you need to do then you'll see that I was right. In the meanwhile for the people who are already on board, thank you And fighting!
