Ok let's talk about #coronavirus.
I feel I'm in a unique position here to do so. As many of you know I'm very ill with 2 ABX resistant infections of Staph & E. coli. Currently hospitalized due to it, my doctor team consists or Interventional Radiology & Infectious Diseases.

I've had a doctor team from both units for just over 4 years here at the hospital. 2 of my ID doctor's used to work for Doctor's Wothout Borders & helped with the Ebola outbreak a few years ago.

The hot topic with my doctor's is #coronavirus as you can imagine.

And a lot of that has been reflected in my much of my recent tweets about #coronavirus.

And the biggie? Opening schools back up. To quote my doctor's "there aren't enough body bags to cover the soon to be dead if that happens!"

So here's the scenario & my summary from what I've learned from my doctor team.

Schools are the perfect "super spreader" when it comes to #coronavirus. It's the perfect storm.

Let's say a teacher or student becomes infected an outside school source. That person shows up to

school & comes into contact with just 1 person (it of course could be several) who got it because the infected person sneezed. You now have 2 people infected. That goes on to increase because of contact with others. Remember, this is airborne & can remain on surfaces.

So now you have kids spreading it to teachers & classmates who then proceed to take it home & spread it to family members who go on to take #coronavirus to their place of employment.

This is a domino effect.

And the root of the problem began with schools reopening.

My doctor's fear that opening schools sill cause death on a scale this country has never seen before because it has all the perfect makings to do so.

Sure education is important but do you know what else is important? The safety of people.
I'm bothered that some of you are worried about school shootings & guns but give a pass to putting people kids, teachers, & faculty in harms way over #coronavirus which kills far more.

Lsst year in the United States there were 14,611 deaths caused by guns that aren't suicide related.

By comparison, in just a few short months time, #coronavirus has killed 132, 309 wbich is up 829 deaths from just yesterday.

One of the things I keep hearing is 'kids aren't impacted by #coronavirus!" This is gaslighting & is a lie. Kids are dying from it & some of you seems to think schools are only filled with children. I'm pretty sure faculty & staff aren't kids. I

It's hypocritical to say you're concerned about things like labor rights & people's general well being when you believe schools should reopen which puts 10s of milions in direct danger which will kill people.

That's not progressive or leftist anything but Randian fatalism.

THINK. Your kid learning math can wait. Death doesn't. Is your kids ability to solve a math problem which he will learn to do in the immediate future more important than people's lives? Because if you believe that you're pretty F'ed up.

There's no such thing as social distancing on a school bus. There is though in a hearse.
