There's an orientation - an open secret not very clear to many Nigerians that engage in discussions on politics. And that's the fact that....

And you still think any real change can be effected through the political system?

If you are reading this post, you are likely a youth. You have something politicians don't have. Time and energy.

Politicians are happy when they you expendyour time and energy on politics. They are using you to meet their goal. And you don't get paid for it. Very sad

It's time to find a new use for your energy. Offline and online.

You are working hard for no pay. Go and spend that energy elsewhere. Get off this app if its too alluring and get serious about self-development. Find a better use of your time with guaranteed returns.

Let's assume it takes 15min to craft a tweet. If you've tweeted 100 times on politics, that's 25 hours of your life you could have invested in a course. Or in creating content (skit, blog, graphic design) you can monetize and get paid for. Start getting smart with your time.

Your engagement in politics doesn't affect governance. Politicians lie all the time to get you to support them. The actual work of progress lies with public officials, and those don't change with government. So this investment of your time in politics has zero return guaranteed.
