As it's the last day of #coproductionweek2020, I thought before it was over I'd share stuff.

It's 1 thing to hear something from quotes from organisation, but another to hear it direct. So, "Hi, I'm the person quoted by @AWPNHS" a couple times this week
...and before I get started, yes, it was as difficult as you might imagine stopping myself from phrasing that introduction as if I was famous actor Troy McClure and 'you might remember me from such tweets as'.
I'm grateful that AWP has been promoting #coproduction and the work of so many in the Trust have started moving towards.

I don't think anyone would deny that there is still a lot to work on, barriers to challenge and obstacles to overcome.

Who knows what quotes will...
...be in #CoproductionWeek2021, but hopefully they will be marking outstanding achievement.

As for quotes, mine didn't come out of nowhere - I typically don't talk in bullet-points - so I thought context might be useful.

My colleagues and I were asked to share experience of...
...working in co-production, and as this years theme is 'Co-production in a Changing World' it seemed fitting to talk about a recent project about eLearning that was Expert By Experience-led.

I'm always keen for things to not just be a dull document (I always over explain, as..
...you can tell) so I thought I'd tell the story of what we did, but also share my reflections on the work and what it meant.

So, I developed something that hopefully staff will get to see on the story of development, and about one of the people involved. It was, to me, quite..
...an emotive thing to talk about, I typically detach and try to stay distant, but it was important to share and connect with others personally to know there was meaning behind the words and appreciation of those who engage.

And also recognition, we (me, specifically) are...
...still learning, just like everybody else, we'll (I'll) get things wrong or not ideal. Reflection, honesty and openness is something I believe in, but sharing is a huge personal challenge. So, yeah, a lot of emotional investment.

I've been very proud of the work we've...
...achieved, and the particular case was around eLearning for Foundation Doctors and having something for their induction about co-production, with it's production *led* by Experts By Experience. There were stumbles, but also some real positives. It wasn't an ideal outcome, but..
...it was a good start for something new. It was also a real show of faith to be asked to not just engage, but to be the driving force, to have people *want* to know more.

And there is something that touches me, that it will be service user voices talking to FY Doctors about...
...co-production when they arrive. There was no fight to get a push, we were invited, and that meant a lot.

But, like I said, there was a lot of emotional investment because in the presentation you got the lot - the stuff from the Head, where all the facts and figures are; the..
...Heart, where all the feelings are; the Appendix, where you file the additional information. I don't typically show all three together, that's how important this work, this week and these people are to me!

It was also aimed internally because, well, my presentation style is...
...

hm.

Suspect at times? It often leaks my personality into it.

Not always something you might want brand association with. 😉

However, thought all week about it and wanted to share with anyone interested/context to recent quotes. So, point of this thread shortly follows
