Ayana means path/period.
So Dakshin (south) +ayana= Southern transit.
Ramayana means Ram + ayana= Shri Ram's path.

Thriprayar Shri Ram temple hs unique traditions like celebrating SETHU-BANDHANAM( building of the RAM SETU) by Shri Ram.
Proof that this is not a story bt part of our history!
The idol of this temple is abt 5000 yrs old,ws originally worshiped by Lord KRISHNA in Dwaraka.

I get to spend abt 5 days with my parents bt despite that my mother never misses a single day of her Ramayana parayanam (chanting).

In July-Aug it rains like cats n dogs in south/south western parts of India/Deccan plateau.
