You may have noticed that I have been a little absent from social media. I wanted to share with you the reason, but I didn't even know how or where to start. Although this whole situation is very new to me, I think it is important to share.
I have recently discovered that I am on the autism spectrum. This brings some explanations and many doubts. It explains very clearly how and why I developed my colorization technique, and why I have often heard that "I have an eye for detail".
I used to call it an "obsession", but now I know that there is much more to this. My brain works in a way that allows me, perhaps, when working, to see details and be completely involved in the process in a way that I didn't even know was possible.
I've heard a few times that it was "impossible" for me to be on the spectrum, because "autistic people don't work, they don't have any friends." I'm on the spectrum and that's probably exactly why I've been building a successful career, reaching milestones and achievements...
... and was able to develop some skills that I attributed until last week to "dedication and perfectionism". It’s not just that. I'm trying to understand what it all means, processing information and trying to make sense of my feelings.
But I have always believed, and now even more so, that it is very important to talk about neurodiversity. Autism has brought me some bad things throughout my life, but it has also helped me to discover and hold on so intensely to my love for art and history.
It helped me to understand many things that are now important to what I do.

And here I speak only for myself, for my experience. People are different from each other, and not all autistic people have a "specific talent" as is my case.
We need to be careful, respect and treat each person as a unique individual, each with their own story.

I also think it is important to say that the diagnosis in women is much more difficult, and until then we often receive incomplete or completely misleading information.
Finally, please know that nobody is sick, nobody has died. I'm the same person. The only difference is that I'm happier now.

I'm not completely used to this yet, but it's okay. This is not a bad thing. It is actually a relief.
I'll talk more when I understand better what's going on and feel more comfortable.

Thank you so much for your support. I'm VERY grateful for it, and I'll always be.
