NEW: Federal prosecutors say Ghislaine Maxwell should be held pending trial in part because of her access to foreign trusts and bank accounts as a means to flee, and how she hid in NH (security guards, a cell phone found with tin foil around it) as a way to avoid detection.
Prosecutors say that when they approached the front door of Maxwell’s house on July 2nd they saw her and told her to open the front door. Instead, prosecutors say, she ignored them and went to another room in the house “quickly shutting the door”.
The FBI then had to breach the front door and when they swept the house prosecutors say they found a cell phone wrapped in tin foil.
According to the filing prosecutors believe the tin foil was , “a seemingly misguided effort to evade detection, not by the press or public, which of course would have no ability to trace her phone or intercept her communications, but by law enforcement.”
