Bethnal Green & Bow had the highest number of crimes per constituency in the country, Poplar & Limehouse 3rd in April-May 2020
In the same period 2019 they were 6th & 27th by comparison
But Anti-Social Behaviour main cause of high numbers locally

BUT for violent crimes in England & Wales April-May 2020
Poplar and Limehouse 125th out of 591 constituencies
Bethnal Green and Bow 130th
So we remain not as violent as other areas but with high levels of ASB, fear of course is that one leads to the other

But numbers suggest a post lockdown shift in crime from city centre night time locations to more residential areas like ours
If it continues Police resources need to shift

This is a very important picture of an important element of Tower Hamlets history, WW2 shrapnel damage from a Luftwaffe bomb
It can be found on the corner of Chamber street and Mansell street E1
It is not protected in any way from re-development
TH was heavily bombed in 2 wars

People forget now that bomb attacks in the 1st world war also caused heavy damage and loss of life (18 children killed in a school in Poplar)
But most damage was in WW2, one reason why E14 has few historic buildings is because so many destroyed

A man will appear at court charged in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Muhammed Samir Uddin, and the attempted murder of an 18-year-old man, at Crossharbour DLR stn on 10 July

Hamza Hoque, 21, and of Manchester Road, Tower Hamlets, has been remanded in custody to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning (14 July). Victim also from IoD

The 18-year-old man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

New planning application Crossharbour for new 32 storey, 209 homes residential development plus extra commercial space
