Good evening, and welcome to a new episode of #WhiskyWEdnesday where we examine some alternative items of interest that may slip through the cracks of time.

For those that don’t like what is being posted, as always, I encourage you to unfollow me or mute at your own discretion.
For all others, welcome to tonight’s episode.

Over the last few months we have been subjected to a constant battering ram of rules and regulations imposed on us to keep us safe. Granted, these are implemented to “protect” society, but sometimes they seem illogical, haphazard.
We start seeing the same phrases mentioned over and over again in media, (TOGETHER) a new rule to follow in the footsteps of a previous rule, or a somewhat puzzling rule that doesn’t seem to make any sense. Let’s look back on Cold War old school control techniques to learn more.
We rewind back to the year 1957, the height of the Cold War when the CIA had employed a Canadian psychologist at Montreal’s McGill University to conduct psychological grooming techniques on patients to see if their behaviour could be altered. “Psychic Driving”. Repetition.
Initially, Cameron said isolation was key. Followed by certain repetitions. This was part of the MK Ultra SubProject 68 at the Allan Institute in Montreal. Yes, it is this place:
While that was going on in Montreal, CIA director Dulles created a new study on manipulating the mind to achieve certain results. Dulles hired two doctors, Wolff & Hinkle to study why Communist Coercion techniques were so effective during the Korean War.
In 1957 Wolff and Hinkle published their findings as “Communist Brainwashing” or “Can the Soviets really turn us into automatons?” Their paper was the basis of the CIA’s special psychological coercion training handbook, which you can buy on Amazon for $2.64CA
So let's look inside this CIA Psychological Coercion handbook and see what they do to manipulate people shall we?
“Human Resource Exploitation Training Manual". As quoted in the manual “The purpose of all coercive techniques is to induce psychological regression in the subject by bringing a superior outside force to bear on his will to resist. Regression is basically a loss of autonomy”
Sections include: Divide and Conquer, Nonsense Tactics,. Coercive techniques such as: Deprivation of Stimuli, Threats and Fear Induction, and so on. Sound familiar?

This is actual text from the manual.
"The threat of inducing debility is more effective than the debility itself. Prolonged constraint, sustained deprivation, patterns to which a subject adjusts by becoming apathetic, withdrawing into himself, in search of escape from the discomfort and tension.”
“A person's sense of identity depends upon a continuity surroundings, habits, clothing, actions, relations with others, etc. Authority figures can cut through these links and plan to enhance the subject's feelings of being cut off from anything known and reassuring.”
This manual published in 1983 was the playbook for coercing subjects to bend to the will of authority. It was a follow up the the first manual called "KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation", dated July 1963 KUBARK was a cryptonym for the CIA itself. Available for $3.99
So, the The D.D.D method of manipulation. Debility, Dependency and Dread. A monopolization of perception. Exhaustion. Constant threat. Occasional Indulgence. Rewards for compliance. Degradation. Following nonsensical demands.

These are all forms of psychological manipulation.
Myself, I prefer to follow the Three Rs. Respect, Research, and Resolve.

TOGETHER, we can beat this. Thanks for joining this #WhiskyWEdnesday and keep well.
