Belmont tramway 1912-1926
Tramways Act of 1882 gave local councils in Qld powers to build railways which did not compete with QR.

Operated 1912-15 sold off

4 miles 25 chains in length, from Norman Park station, on the Cleveland line to a terminus on the Old Cleveland Road, near the present State school at the corner of Scrub Road Belmont.

QR locos until steam tram arrived & after the steam tram was sold.
QR A12 A14 B13 B15 & PB15 class locos were permitted on the tramway.

In 1948 the Brisbane City Council built new tracks along a similar alignment as the old tracks connecting into Brisbane's vast Tram network.

BCC took over the shire in 1925 and tramway was closed in 1926.
