Thought I'd tweet about a cool feature of @GenesysPGR, the online portal to #genebank accessions. 1/n
The use case I'll consider today is: I have an accession I like. Show me all other accessions which come from a similar climate. 2/n
Here's what you do. When you have selected the accession you like, go to Map, and look for this on the left. Click on Show Climate... 
Then click on your accession on the map. You'll get a summary description of the climate at that point. If you click on List Accessions, you'll get a list of all other accessions from places which are roughly comparable in climate to that of the accession which you clicked. 4/n
Or, you can choose a bioclimatic variable, decide on some values, go to Filter Accessions on left of map, & insert your values in appropriate box, click Apply Filter, and there's a list of accessions again, this time from places with climates within your chosen limits. 5/5
