We get NSAIDs, Bupe, and woo pushed at us all the time.
The people who are suffering are the ones who need #opioids & can’t get them.
I’ve lost count of failed prophylactic & rescue meds over 20 yrs

1. The inchoate threat of law enforcement, particularly DEA.
2. The conflation of medical and non-medical users
3. The resulting war on #pain patients and physicians.
4. This leaves people with addiction and #drug dealers untouched. /2

Post 2016, plus state overreach, we see physicians harassed by law enforcement, with medical boards rolling over, or actively assisting.
7. On a parallel track, the VA blithely cuts only opioid Rx by over 1/3 goes {shocked pickachu face} when veteran suicides skyrocket.

A survey confirms almost 80% of primary care physicians don’t want #CPP as patients.
9. This is after millions are destabilized with rapid, nonconsensual tapers. Research confirms this is a VERY BAD thing.
10. Non opioid therapies suggested get crazier, including pet therapy.

Through all this, the few people who get even limited access to opioids have to accept increasingly demeaning conditions, imported from the #parole system.
12. Through this- it’s only access to opioids that is limited. You want to destroy your kidneys with NSAIDs? No problem.

In the vagaries of insurance, it’s easier to get a huge NSAID prescription with multiple refills, than even an anti-emetic.
14. Increasing, #pain is pushed as a #mental health issue. This is VERY BAD. Especially for patients w/diseases like #migraine and #trigemenalneuralgia

Our top priorities need to regaining access to opioids, protecting the physician-patient relationship, and getting law enforcement out of the exam room.
13. Other therapies are not at risk. When you are dying from a heart attack, that takes precedence over the sprained ankle.
