Interesting: USS Nimitz and 4 other US Navy ships will be conducting Passex between today and Tuesday with 3-4 of IN's frontline ships as they pass south of Andaman Nicobar Islands on their way to western Indian Ocean from Malacca Straits.
Apart from Nimitz, there are 2 US destroyers and 2 supply ships in the US fleet passing through the region. The composition of IN's fleet is not known but they are most likely to be Eastern Naval Command's destroyers and frigates. The Japanese Navy had done Passex with IN in June
Last week IN's Eastern Naval Fleet had conducted manouvres off the Andaman Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal. The IAF has also moved half a squadron of Jaguars to Carnic (Car Nicobar island) in the past fortnight in what is seen as a signalling to the Chinese
