Yes and that's why he doesn't deserve to be in the Shilanyas ceremony. Young people have no idea how much damage (in terms of frustration, confusion, and demoralization among Hindu masses) he did by his "Saddest Day of my life" statement.

As per Vedanta, observable universe (Prapancha) along with the cognizer (Drashta) is nothing but recursion of चेतन तत्व( ब्रह्म).By the process of नेति-नेति a seeker undoes all the levels of recursion and find him/her self to be nothing but "एक अखंड अद्वितीय चेतन तत्व" or ब्रह्म.
As long as a cognizer (Drashta) identifies himself with any of the recursion levels not knowing his/her reality of being "एक अखंड अद्वितीय चेतन तत्व" or ब्रह्म, he/she will keep moving from one level to other and thus remain stuck in life-death cycle.

What I said abv is told in साधुसंत-सनातन ब्राह्मण परंपरा as follows:

"झूठेउ सत्य जाहि बिनु जानें। जिमि भुजंग बिनु रजु पहिचानें॥
