As long as I get feedback from BIPOC participants that they aren’t being centered enough or pushed enough, I will keep growing my practice and facilitative skills to do so. This decenters, destabilizes, dethrones white folks. #DismantleWSC
Real talk, ad a participant of many PDs and workshops, I been there, thinking, this is for white folks, and what about me? I can’t do the same shit now.
Ways I’m trying to center BIPOC, voices and text from BIPOC, asking everyone including whites to learn from is.
BIPOC Affinity space and even more so specific racial caucuses.
Minimizing and at times silencing white voices
Not letting white tears, fragility, or white rage derail the learning space.
Sending whites into racial affinity to work it out.
Saying “we’ve heard enough white folks speak” “don’t start with white men speaking”
Using CRT instead of WSC to plan curriculum and adult learning pedagogy
Shit, by speaking my voice, I ain’t white and I can share my perspective
If I get it right, whites feel left out, out the loop, or or left behind, but who’s in? BIPOC.
But will white folk stay engaged if it’s not about y’all? Will you stay? Should we care? Nah.

White supremacy is not just about hierarchy. It’s about HUMANITY and whether white folks see BIPOC as fully human. FULLY. We are unquestionably human but how we are treated and viewed is result of white supremacy and purpose of white supremacy. (thread)
This is why we (BIPOC) always are asserting, defending, and affirming our HUMANITY. white supremacy aims to remove our humanity, rights, liberties. Dignity.
Institutions treat us like animals. Jails. Schools. Child separation. Slavery. Agriculture. Police. Court system. It’s deeper than treated us like lesser humans. It is more akin to the treatment of animals.
Breonna Taylor is still not getting justice and y’all still being neutral? Are you ready to take a stand now? Or are we waiting for another murder, march, & innocent verdict? culturallyresponsiveleadership.com/neutrality/ Here’s 16 issues to fight for in our schools! #DismantleWSC
1) Race, racism, and anti-racism in the classroom. Discuss it.
2) Grading students during or after a pandemic. Abandon it.
Antiracist parents, please be prepared to fight for your brave educators who are fighting for your children. They are teaching critical thinking, love, & democracy. White rage will try to remove them, by hook or crook. Educators will need parents to support them. Be prepared.
Let me be clear, I’m talking about our administrations current attack on ethnic studies, critical thinking, critical race theory, and anti-racism. Parents, you have to choose a side. Choose a side that supports the marginalized and voiceless. Use your privilege.
Watch the news, and see how specific educators and leaders are removed, put on leave, investigated, and accused of all sort of fraudulent charges. This is all a distraction and an attempt to discourage change.
