White supremacy is not just about hierarchy. It’s about HUMANITY and whether white folks see BIPOC as fully human. FULLY. We are unquestionably human but how we are treated and viewed is result of white supremacy and purpose of white supremacy. Antiracist parents, please be prepared to fight for your brave educators who are fighting for your children. They are teaching critical thinking, love, & democracy. White rage will try to remove them, by hook or crook. Educators will need parents to support them. Be prepared. Spending my evening watching the @CityofSSF Commission on Racial and Social Equity. As a resident of SSF and Bay Area educator, I’m VERY interested in this conversation. So far we’ve had examples of the myth of meritocracy, allusion to flawed and racist bootstrap mentality, and perhaps an attempt at being a medal minority. 🍿

Good Morning Y'all. We are in a huge growth spurt right now. Pandemic, Systemic Racism, Distance Learning, etc. Growth hurts. But we will come out stronger, better, and more mature. Not sure how long it will last. But for right now, it hurts like hell. (sigh) Let's be real. Different folks are growing (and need to be) growing at a diff pace. White folks? So much for pretending. Keep it real. It aint workin! I'm literally getting last week's work done tonight, after kids have went to bed, and getting a head start on next week's work, because normal hours are when I PARENT my kids, that I am a parent of.

Schools starting. We don’t just want to speak & represent. Give BIPOC real power and resources for liberation. Consultants, guest speakers, and YouTube clips are not enough. Dismantle the whole racist system. (Thread) We bout to start the school year, people are writing welcome letters, holding all staff meetings & convening institutes. Some organizations believe they are progressive simply by buying copies of the new book for everyone, even if written by a brown person. Nope. Not enough.

As long as I get feedback from BIPOC participants that they aren’t being centered enough or pushed enough, I will keep growing my practice and facilitative skills to do so. This decenters, destabilizes, dethrones white folks. #DismantleWSC Real talk, ad a participant of many PDs and workshops, I been there, thinking, this is for white folks, and what about me? I can’t do the same shit now.

It took Black folks being murdered in the streets & white folks waking up, for us to do a LITTLE bit of justice for our Indigenous folx, who been waiting too damn long. The power of solidarity. The door is cracked. Let's kick that shit in & demand everything! No racist mascots! We cant stop until there are no more racists memorialized in statue, haunting us, until there are no more confederate monuments to celebrate anything to do with slavery, until no professional sports, college, or high school sports have racist logos, names, mascots, or derivatives

Newly “woke” white folks, a few things to consider about what to do next to dismantle white supremacy culture. (thread) Now that the veil has been lifted, are you willing to fight it out with your fellow whites?

All the WHITE folks (especially the EDUtweeters) who said they “really want to make it happen” and attend my dismantling white supremacy culture training, but DIDNT, ok, you have another chance in July. After that, let’s call all that talk performative. And lets not talk again. If you got new brown followers off that equity jacket you put on for a minute, or even more white liberal follower, think about the racial dynamics and hypocrisy there.

Stop being fake. Stop being safe.
Be brave. Be you. Be true. Folks of color have some serious unlearning to do. Some exorcising if the demons of internalized racial oppression.

Stop being scared of white folks. BIPOC hold back so much but we need to start letting that shit out.

in Black pockets (robbed). I would never let you think that it was just about money. Also, read about Black history, oppression and empowerment.
